
Farishta Sediqi
President
Farishta Sedeqi, born in Herat, Afghanistan, is a dedicated leader and advocate with over two decades of experience in non-profit work. She holds a Master’s degree in Leadership and Management from Morning Star ILD and has been a strong voice for women’s rights, human rights, and social justice throughout her career.
In 2004, Farishta founded the Health and Rehabilitation Program for Afghanistan (HRPA), where she served as President until 2013. Under her leadership, HRPA successfully implemented hundreds of impactful projects focused on literacy, vocational training, and shelter for vulnerable women and children. Through these initiatives, HRPA provided essential support to more than 12,000 individuals, predominantly women, fostering empowerment and community development in Afghanistan.
After relocating to Canada in 2013, Farishta has continued her commitment to advocacy by collaborating with various non-profit organizations. She has served as an advisor on diverse policies and projects, focusing on supporting marginalized communities and addressing systemic issues in Canada. Her areas of expertise include women’s empowerment, combatting human trafficking, and advancing human rights.
Farishta’s work is distinguished by her unwavering dedication to fostering inclusion, equality, and opportunity. Her contributions have had a lasting impact, both in Afghanistan and Canada, and she continues to be a leader in creating pathways for positive social change.
